The Research on Reliability Improvement Technology of Transmission Line Sensors in High-Altitude Areas

A large number of sensors will be deployed in the construction and operation of power grids, especially in high-altitude areas, where large-scale application of sensors significantly reduces operation and maintenance costs. However, due to the harsh natural environment in high-altitude areas, the reliability of sensors is relatively low. This paper first divided the intelligent sensing terminal used in high-altitude regions to several components, and analyzed how the extreme environment at high altitudes affects each component of the terminal, which helped to identify the key factors that constrain sensor reliability. Based on mechanistic analysis, reliability enhancement strategies for sensors are designed. At last, this paper developed an integrated transmission line monitoring sensor suitable for high-altitude environments. The reliability of the sensor has been verified through both laboratory and field testing.
