Analysis of Hybrid BioComposite For Sustainable Applications

The needs for greater execution and ecofriendly composite materials in the automobile, packing and mechanical industries have made eco-fibre strengthened polymer composites as viable alternatives. The proposed study concentrates on the fabrication and empirical assessment of hybrid composites composed of synthetic glass and natural fibres flax and sisal embedded in an epoxy resin matrix to have an understanding of how the fibre stacking series impacts the structural and physical manner of the composite. The rigid and epoxy matrix incorporated outer flax fibre layer of FS take responsibility for the enhanced durability. Even when both FS (Flax, Sisal, Glass, Sisal , Flax) and SF(Sisal, Flax, Glass, Flax, Sisal) displayed wear loss as 0.01g in the wear test, the former’s coefficient of friction (0.59) was considerably less compared to the later (0.76) that imply a 22.37% enhancement in tribological implementation. In the event of moisture resistivity, SF displayed better execution with absorption of water confined to 7.79% as against 8.70% for FS, which indicates decrement of 10.34%. The reason can be attributed to the outer sisal fibres of SF that are little hydrophobic compared to Flax. The measures of thermal transmission capability showed that the range of SF was from 0.65 to 0.91 W/m K along with an average of 0.82 W/m K that indicates an increment of 21.95% in thermal transmission capability. The results show the capacity of modelling hybrid eco-synthetic composites through systematic layer arrangement thus providing an equalized roadway between execution and eco-friendliness for engineering operations that would satisfy operational as well as demands of the environment.
