A Data Acquisition and Interaction Approach for Security and Stability Control Devices Based on Data Communication Gateway and Its Applications

With the expansion of power grid scale, increasing number of security and stability control devices, and diversified information acquisition requirements for these devices, the limitations of traditional approaches which rely on direct master-station interaction through device-specific proprietary protocols have become increasingly evident in terms of communication architecture, compatibility, and scalability. This paper proposes a novel stability control information acquisition and interaction framework based on the data communication gateway. The solution employs the IEC 61850 protocol to uniformly collect data from all stability control devices within substations, then aggregates and transmits this information to the master station via IEC60870-5-104 (IEC104) and DL/T 476 protocols. This approach features a simplified network architecture and unified interfaces, enabling effortless future expansion of stability control information acquisition. It empowers the master station to comprehensively monitor all security and stability control devices, contributing to the safe and stable operation of the power system.
