Site Selection Optimization of Pumped Storage Considering Voltage Level of Power System

The pumped storage may reduce the peak-to-valley difference of the power system. Before the construction of the pumped storage, the voltage level of each bus must be considered in addition to the system power. The power flow is affected by the location of the pumped storage. Hence, this paper proposes a site selection optimization method of the pumped storage considering the voltage level. By integrating loads into the system, the power grid equation is expanded, and the power flow without passive buses is established. Combined with the former, the load current equation is expanded, the expression of the voltage between the pumped storage bus and the load bus is derived, and the optimal location model of the pumped storage integrated the power system with considering the impact of that on the load voltage is proposed. The simulation results verify the correctness and the effectiveness of the proposed method.
