PR Control Strategy of Three-Phase Two-Switch PFC Converter Based on Third Harmonic Injection

Power factor correction technology can significantly improve the quality of input electrical energy on the grid side, reduce the transmission of reactive power, and enhance the energy utilization efficiency of the power grid. This paper proposes a PR¹ control strategy for three-phase two-switch PFC converter to improve the control performance. Firstly, the operating modes of the converter are modeled and analyzed. In order to suppress input current harmonics on the grid side, a current control strategy for the PFC converter based on auxiliary harmonic injection is introduced. Based on theoretical analysis, the control algorithm adopted is compared with commonly used control algorithms for three-phase PFC converters, and the corresponding amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristic curves are plotted. Steady-state performance tests under different load conditions and dynamic response tests under input voltage and load disturbances are conducted. The results of the steady-state performance tests and dynamic response tests indicate that the proposed control strategy for the three-phase two-switch PFC converter based on resonant networks can effectively reduce the input current ripple and meet harmonic requirements.
