Position Estimator at Startup and Rotation Reversal of IPMSM Drives

The high-frequency signal injection method, commonly used for sensorless control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors in the zero and low-speed, introduces high-frequency noise and causes losses. To address this problem, a statically compensated voltage model for sensorless control of IPMSMs is proposed. This method eliminates the need for signal injection and enables low-speed operation. Moreover, its global convergence is theoretically proven, ensuring zero-speed startup under any position error and reverse rotation under load. Simulation and experiment results validate its effectiveness.
