A Compact and Low-Loss Microstrip Filtered Power Divider for Millimeter-Wave Applications

This paper describes the filtered power divider design using microstrip lines architecture. A transmission zero is generated through two resonant cavities to improve selectivity and isolation. The proposed filter is manufactured using a Rogers 5880 substrate with a thickness of 0.254 mm. The center frequency of the filter power divider is located at 20.71 GHz, the passband range is 19.5-22 GHz, the fractional bandwidth is about 12.04% and the minimum insertion loss is 3.7 dB. The filter power divider has an area of $20 \times 21.8 \; {\mathrm {mm}}^{2}$ and has a compact circuit integration area. Therefore, the proposed BPF designed as a power divider has the advantage of having low insertion loss and compact size.
