Navigational System for Miniature Robots

This project presents the design and development of a miniature robot car enhanced with autonomous navigation and real-time mapping capabilities. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller to control motor functions, a Raspberry Pi for sensor integration and data processing, and a YDLIDAR X4-Pro sensor for environmental mapping and obstacle detection. Real-time visual feedback is provided through a Raspberry Pi camera, with data from both the camera and LiDAR integrated using the Robot Operating System (ROS) and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) techniques. Additionally, a joystick-based Android application developed using MIT App Inventor enables remote control over a local network. This integrated architecture offers a cost-effective platform for developing mobile robots capable of autonomous navigation, live environmental monitoring, and remote operation.
