Research on the Sliding Mode Cascade Control System of PMSM Based on Super-Twisting Algorithm

In order to investigate the high robustness of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) Field-Oriented Control system, sliding mode control (SMC) techniques are commonly employed to improve control performance. However, traditional SMC introduces significant chattering in the system. To address this issue, a weighted integral exponential reaching law is proposed, based on which an improved sliding mode speed controller (ISMC) is designed to enhance the speed control performance of the system. Additionally, second-order sliding mode control theory (SOSMC) is introduced to redesign the current loop controller, thus forming a sliding mode cascade control (SMCC) structure with the speed controller, which improves the overall control accuracy of the system. Simulation results demonstrate that the PMSM speed control system under this control strategy maintains robust performance during dynamic and steady-state conditions, including acceleration and load changes, with a marked improvement in its ability to suppress chattering. The research successfully achieves the objective of enhancing the control performance of the sliding mode system.
