Optimization of the Operational Mechanism of the “Panlong” Folk Cultural Activity Based on Kinematics and Genetic Algorithm

This paper investigates the dynamic motion of the traditional Chinese folk cultural activity “Bench Dragon” through mathematical modeling and computer simulation techniques. Initially, a motion model for the Bench Dragon was established, and the specific motion trajectory of the Bench Dragon was obtained by solving the spiral motion equations of various points on the dragon's body using the Runge-Kutta method. Subsequently, a collision judgment model between the dragon body plates was constructed, determining the critical conditions for collisions by assessing whether the rectangles formed by the discretized points of the head plate overlap with those formed by other dragon body plates. Finally, the turning space was optimized using genetic algorithms and solid geometric models to enhance the aesthetics of the coiling dragon motion. The results analysis section verifies the accuracy of the model, demonstrating the dynamic motion trajectory of the Bench Dragon within 300 seconds through numerical simulation, and analyzing the speed and position of the dragon head. By analyzing the collision model, the positions at which the Bench Dragon collides at specific moments were determined, providing a basis for designing a more effective strategy for entering the turning space. By iteratively adjusting the pitch and using a genetic algorithm to quickly converge to the minimum pitch that meets these conditions, the optimized parameters for the Bench Dragon's motion were found.
