Control and Simulation Analysis of a Hydraulic System for Ship Watertight Cover Based on Mathematical Model

Watertight covers, as a key component in ensuring maritime structural safety, have garnered significant attention in the industry. This paper designs a safe and reliable watertight cover and its hydraulic system. Based on the system principles, a mathematical model and a simulation model are derived. A control strategy using only four travel switches is proposed, and the control characteristics of the watertight cover's hydraulic system are analyzed through simulation. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control method, after repeated adjustments, ensures minimal pressure shock while keeping the opening and closing times within 15 seconds. The angular velocity of the watertight cover at the moment of valve closure has an impact on pressure shock, which can be effectively reduced by adjusting the deceleration transition time parameter in the control signal.
