Data-Driven Distributed Resilient Control for DC Microgrids With BESSs Under DoS Attacks and Communication Delays

This paper proposes a hierarchical control strategy for DC microgrids with battery energy storage systems (BESSs), achieving state of charge (SoC) balancing and voltage restoration despite the existence of denial-of-service (DoS) attacks and communication delays. In the primary layer of BESSs, an improved SoC-based droop control is proposed, which redefines droop coefficient as a time-varying parameter related to SoC and capacity, thereby enabling SoC balancing among heterogeneous BESSs. On the other hand, in the secondary layer, a combination of distributed dynamic consensus algorithm (DCA) and model free adaptive (MFA) control provides a data-driven approach. It realizes output voltage consensus and voltage restoration under DoS attacks and communication delays, without relying on accurate microgrid model in complex network. Particularly, it is shown that the secondary control compensates for voltage deviations without modifying the design of primary control. The rigorous stability analysis of the proposed control strategy is conducted. Simulation results under different scenarios demonstrate the availability of the proposed control strategy, and resilience to DoS attacks and communication delays. This control strategy is expected to improve the power supply quality of microgrids while increasing the utilization rate of new energy in real-world applications.
