Labeled Graph-Based Topology Derivation Method for Multi-Source Inverters

Multi-source inverters (MSIs) feature small size, low cost, and high power density due to their single-stage power conversion by removing the intermediate dc-dc converters. However, most of the existing topology derivation approaches start from scratch, leading to duplication of topology design while ignoring some feasible topological structures. Given this, this paper proposed a labeled graph-based topology derivation method to derive MSI topologies without the repetitive designs of existing topologies, where existing topologies are modeled as a labeled graph. In the proposed methods, the connections of MSI topologies are represented by the label in the graph while deriving a graph to obtain MSI topologies by swapping labels. Besides, this paper takes MSI with two dc sources as a case study to detail the derivation and component configuration process, and some MSI topologies are derived by the proposed method. Finally, the experimental results validated the effectiveness of the derived topology.
