Development of a New Type of Traveling Wave Fault Location Device for Distribution Network

In response to the challenges of precise fault location in 10 kV distribution networks, this article relies on the principle of double ended traveling wave distance measurement to develop a new type of traveling wave fault location device for distribution networks. It has the functions of high-speed transient signal analysis and acquisition, fast extraction of local details of fault traveling waves, and accurate calibration of traveling wave heads. It can achieve fast and efficient fault location in distribution networks, effectively shorten the maintenance time of line faults, and enhance the safety and reliability of power supply for distribution network operators.
