Forwarding Strategy Based on Multi-attribute Decision-making for VNDN

A forwarding strategy based on multi-attribute decision-making is designed to address the issues of broadcast storms, high network latency, and network congestion caused by existing forwarding algorithms in Vehicular Named Data Networking(VNDN). Firstly,the strategy uses the evaluation method combining the entropy weight method and WASPAS method (Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment) to select the vehicle nodes with the highest scores for forwarding the interest packets.Secondly, using the multipath characteristics of VNDN, the forwarding redundancy index is defined, which is combined with the probabilistic forwarding, the higher the redundancy index the higher the forwarding probability.Experimental results show that, compared with the traditional Multicast algorithm, the existing LSIF strategy and CODIE strategy, the proposed strategy reduces the number of interest packets forwarded, the average delay, and improves the satisfaction rate of interest packets.
