Research on Train Integrity Inspection Based on EKF

The traditional train integrity inspection method relies on trackside equipment and track circuit, which has a huge amount of investment and maintenance, and cannot adapt to the harsh and difficult environment and operation and maintenance conditions of the China’s western railway. In this paper, a train autonomous integrity monitoring method based on the IMU and wind pressure sensor is proposed. The EKF is used to perform state estimation and dynamic fusion of multi-source data to improve the response speed and detection accuracy of abnormal states such as the carriage separation and the connection loosening. The motion state modeling and wind pressure mutation detection model are constructed. Through the train length estimation mechanism, the effective detection of the train integrity without GNSS assistance is realized. The simulation results show that this method can significantly suppress the IMU drift error, effectively reduce the speed error and the train length estimation error, and significantly improve the accuracy of the train integrity check.
