Design of intelligent medicine box medication reminder control system based on STM32

With the intensification of population aging and the increasing number of chronic disease patients, the problem of missed or incorrect medication among the elderly due to memory decline has become prominent. To address this issue, this study designs an intelligent medicine box medication reminder control system based on an STM32 microcontroller. The system integrates a clock module, infrared sensing module, servo control module, voice broadcast module, and GSM SMS module to achieve functions such as timed reminders, automatic compartment opening, medication retrieval detection, and emergency alerts. The hardware design centers on the STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller, combined with a DS1302 clock chip, SG90 servo motor, BY8301 voice module, and SIM900A communication module, completing data acquisition, control, and communication through modular design. The software, developed in the Keil uVision5 environment, utilizes a main program and subroutines to manage time, voice prompts, servo driving, and SMS alert logic. Physical tests demonstrate that the system accurately triggers voice reminders and controls compartment switches at preset times. If medication is not retrieved promptly, the system sends an SMS alert to caregivers via the GSM module, with a response time error of less than 1 second. Experimental results show that the system features high reliability, low cost, and user-friendly interaction, providing effective support for medication management among elderly and chronic disease patients.
