PLC S7-1200 Based Sensorless PID Control for Three Phase Asynchronous Motor Using Kalman Filter

This paper presents a sensorless control method for a three-phase asynchronous motor using Kalman filtering, implemented on an S7-1200 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). First, the state-space model of the system-comprising the inverter and the motor-is identified based on input data (frequency) and output data (motor speed). The Kalman filter is then employed to estimate the motor speed, which is subsequently provided to a PID controller to ensure the motor speed tracks the desired speed reference. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
