Blockchain-based Energy Trading Platform for P2P Renewable Energy Sharing

Decentralized renewable energy sources has driven demand for secure and efficient peer-to-peer energy trading platforms, which are well suited to the increasing instability of energy distribution systems associated with decentralized renewable energy sources. We describe the design and implementation of a blockchain-based system that enables transparent, trustless, and automated energy exchanges between producers and consumers. Smart contracts are used on the platform to facilitate energy listings and payments, providing immutability and removing the need for middlemen. An interactive map allows users to find energy providers in their vicinity, and feedback given after the transaction is analyzed to track the quality of service provided. With a dual storage architecture featuring both blockchain and MySQL, we can ensure that data is both secure and accessible. User approvals and listing verifications are done through an administrator, maintaining platform integrity.
