Regulate DC-Link Voltage of DFIG based WECS During Three Phase Fault Conditions with Ant-Lion Optimization Control Algorithm

Managing the DC-link voltage at steady state mitigates the ripples and harmonics in the output voltage and current profile. Results, enhanced power quality can be achieved.A well-designed control algorithm is essential to the stabilize the DC link voltage. The stabilize DC-link voltage supports for the MPPT algorithm that is maximize the wind turbine output power generation and protect the power converters. However, due to environmental factors like wind availability the power produced by wind turbine is in nonlinear nature. Therefore, the power generated by wind turbines does not meet the grid requirements. This unstable DC-link voltages can develop the voltage sags or swells, hampers the grid's operation. For achieve the stable regulation of DC link voltage the well-operation of grid side converters (GSC) is significant. Operating GSC converters accurately an advanced Ant-lion optimization (ALO) algorithm is established in this work. Unlike linear PI controllers, the ALO-PI algorithm operates the GSC converters well and provides balanced output power. For generate more wind power DFIG asynchronous machine utilized. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed ALO algorithm simulation results conducted for 40% of symmetrical grid faults. During this fault condition the proposed control approach regulated DC-link voltage constant.
