Comprehensive Multi-Physics Analysis of Mechanical and Electrical Stress Impacts on Universal Motor Performance: Integrating Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Electromagnetic and Thermal Simulation

This work details a comprehensive multi-physics analysis and simulation of the electrical and mechanical stress impact on universal motor performance, using an integrated approach that combines Finite Element Analysis (FEA), electromagnetic simulations and thermal modeling. Advanced simulation methodologies are employed to assess the influence of mechanical stresses such as vibrational forces and load transients on motor efficiency and lifespan, alongside the effects of electrical stresses, including voltage transients and thermal dynamics. Our results demonstrate that mechanical vibrations and electrical anomalies critically impair operational efficiency and reliability. This study underscores the necessity of a holistic design framework for universal motors, providing essential insights for optimizing performance across various applications. The paper aims to guide engineers and industry practitioners in selecting and designing motors that effectively balance performance, durability and operational requirements. Future research directions will involve empirical validation of the simulations and the investigation of innovative thermal management and stress mitigation strategies to enhance motor reliability and efficiency in practical applications.
