Research on the design and application of digital twin architecture for substation automation equipment

With the construction of new power system under the dual-carbon target, the power grid will become more and more complex, coupled with the promotion of "unattended + centralized monitoring" mode of intelligent substation in recent years, which puts forward higher requirements for the digital intelligent construction of substation. Substation automation system, as an important support for local autonomy and remote monitoring of substation operation, is the key node of grid energy flow and information flow connection, the complexity of the equipment and the difficulty of operation and maintenance has risen sharply in recent years, which has brought great risks to the safe and stable operation of the grid. In this paper, by using the emerging digital twin technology, we design and construct a twin mirror of substation automation equipment and system in digital space, and summarize a total of five key technologies for the construction of digital twins of substation automation equipment, including twin modeling, twin application platform construction, high-flow reliability transmission, consistency calibration, and virtual-reality iteration, and put forward a solution for each of these key technologies. Based on the constructed digital twin, advanced application functions such as commissioning operation and maintenance, panoramic monitoring and condition assessment and warning of substation automation system are verified and realized, which greatly improves the efficiency of commissioning and maintenance of substation automation equipment, provides an important reference for the commissioning operation and maintenance and centralized monitoring of substation automation system, and is of popularization value.
