Enhancing Astronomy Education in Secondary Schools Through Virtual Reality

This study explores the development and evaluation of a virtual reality (VR) application aimed at enhancing secondary school astronomy education. Utilizing the ADDIE instructional design model, a VR game was developed to provide immersive and interactive learning experiences. The game allows students to explore astronomical concepts through first-person simulations and quizzes. Evaluative results from three students in Putrajaya revealed a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of $\mathbf{8 0. 9 3 \%}$, indicating high usability. Additionally, feedback from participants highlighted the application's effectiveness in fostering engagement and improving understanding of complex topics. By addressing the limitations of traditional teaching methods, this project demonstrates the potential of VR to revolutionize astronomy education. Future enhancements could include expanding the scope of interactive features and increasing the sample size for evaluation to generalize the findings more effectively.
