Synthesis Design for Filters Based on Metal Sheet Waveguide With Narrow Band Performance

In this paper, we propose a novel resonator structure named Metal Sheet Waveguide(MSW). To enhance the selectivity of the filter, the extraced-pole technique is introduced to generate transmission zeros(TZs) close to the passband. During the synthesis procedure, the ABCD matrix is employed to extract the parameter values from the prototype circuit. In this work, the accurate mapping between the extracted parameters and the physical dimensions is discussed. Finally, the three-order bandpass filter with a TZ is fabricated and measured for verification. A good agreement is demonstrated among the ideal response, simulation results, and measured data.
