Chessboard Distribution Transmission-Reflection-Integrated Bidirectional Dual-Beam Metasurface

A full-space transmission-reflection-integrated (TRI) bidirectional dual-beam metasurface is proposed for a multi-user communication system. The proposed metasurface includes transmission and reflection unit cells, which adopt a conventional checkerboard distribution. The transmission unit cell enhances its performance through multiple metal vias. The phase composition of the proposed metasurface comprises the focused phase and alternating cyclic phase of 0° and 180°. The simulation results show that both the transmission and reflection apertures of the proposed metasurface can generate dual-beam.
