Analysis of Deformed Flexible Antennas Based on Infinitesimal Dipole Model

This work presents a new approach for predicting the radiation characteristics of flexible antennas under bending, using their undeformed radiation fields as the baseline. The method models the initial antenna structure with an infinitesimal dipole array and captures the effects of bending by translating structural deformations into positional and orientational changes of the infinitesimal dipole elements. To demonstrate its accuracy, we apply the method to a typical flexible antenna design. Finite element-based infinitesimal dipole model is constructed, and the resulting far-field patterns under bending scenarios are compared against full-wave simulation results, showing strong agreement.
