Sewage Water Monitoring Using Raspberry Pi

The goal of this work is to use a Raspberry Pi to create an automated sewage water monitoring system that incorporates multiple sensors to measure water quality and allow for remote monitoring. Critical water parameters are monitored by the system using an ultrasonic sensor, a pH sensor, a DHT11 sensor (for temperature and humidity), and an MQ2 gas sensor. ThingSpeak, an Internet of Things platform, receives the data from these sensors and stores and visualises it for real-time analysis. In addition to offering remote access to the water quality data for efficient decision-making and action, this strategy guarantees proactive water filtration and quality management. The system automatically regulates two water pumps and matching LEDs based on the sensor data. If the water quality is within acceptable bounds, a green LED and pump are engaged; if it is not, a red LED and secondary pump are triggered. In the event of critical water conditions, consumers are also alerted by SMS message. In addition to offering remote access to the water quality data for efficient decision-making and action, this strategy guarantees proactive water filtration and quality management.
