Solar Light Tracking with STM32 and IoT Integration

This research paper focuses on using STM32-based solar tracking system to maximize solar energy harvest using intelligent, real-time positioning of the panel. Two Light Dependent Resistors (LDRs) are used for sensing maximum solar intensity while an attached Servo Motor aligns the solar panel accordingly. An INA219 sensor is used to detect the voltage and current produced by the solar panel to harness the energy from the panel. Consequently, the system’s live data is sent to an IoT dashboard, giving real-time updates on panel orientation, light sensor values and power readings. The STM32 microcontroller functions as the system’s central element, processing sensor input, control logic and communication protocols with minimal power draw and latency, allowing the entire system to be a low-cost, compact solar tracking solution made with embedded systems and IoT, offering efficient and practical benefits.
