A Reliable Kerberos Ticket Management and Encryption Enhancement Solution

In order to enhance the security, complexity and applicability of ticket encryption and storage in the traditional kerberos protocol, to solve the security risks of single point of failure and ticket easy to be forged in kerberos protocol, and to improve the confidentiality of the ticket and the security of the system, this paper proposes a reliable Kerberos ticket management and encryption enhancement scheme. The method firstly adopts a distributed Kerberos ticket management system and combines the dynamic encryption of Kerberos tickets with the Transit engine in HashiCorp Vault, including kerberos database synchronous listening propagation, key rotation, and ticket update. By dynamically managing Kerberos tickets and keys, Vault is able to automatically rotate keys, update tickets, and reduce the risk of key leakage. It effectively prevents common attack methods in the current Kerberos protocol, effectively enhances the security of the Kerberos protocol, and improves the reliability and disaster recovery capability of the system.
