The Integration of Artificial Intelligence as a Lever for Employability: Issues and Perspectives — Systematic Literature Review

Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) within education systems has been a revolutionary means of enhancing the employability of graduates. This study examines how AI can enhance students' employability through its impact on skill development, personalized learning, and alignment with the needs of the job market. Drawing on a close reading of $\mathbf{1 7}$ scholarly articles following PRISMA systematic literature review, the research in this paper finds that the potential of AI to create customized learning spaces, equip learners with technological and soft skills that employers require, and enable the graduates to be better matched to jobs is evident. In spite of this, other issues such as insufficient infrastructure, ineffective teacher training, and bureaucratic resistance to change within universities and other learning institutions remain the primary challenges to the effective implementation of AI in universities. The study concludes by taking into account the incorporation of AI in the future, highlighting the need for frequent curriculum revision, inter-sectoral collaboration, and ethics of applying AI in education systems.
