Founding and Growing Solidworks and Onshape

Jon Hirschtick reflects on over four decades spent building CAD software, most notably at SolidWorks and Onshape, and his ongoing commitment to listening to engineers within his customer base, in order to understand what tools they need to build better products, faster. Today, in his role as chief evangelist at PTC, the company that acquired Onshape in 2019, he still dedicates much of his time to customer conversations. They are, he says, the aspect of his work he enjoys most.
