Enhancing Solar Energy Production: A Comprehensive Model for Fixed-Panel Systems Applied to the Solar Power Plant in Diass, Senegal

The study presented in the article focuses on modeling the fixed-panel solar power plant in Diass. Initially, a mathematical model was developed and validated. This model incorporates various environmental and operational parameters to accurately predict solar electricity production. Validation results showed a correlation coefficient of 0.999 and an average annual production increase of 0.0289 GWh when applying the model. Additionally, energy production losses were evaluated for each month, revealing variations ranging from 0.016% in August to 0.091% in October. Subsequently, solar power plant production was assessed considering different configurations, namely a single-axis and dual-axis tracking system. All these findings confirm the model's precision in optimizing the design, management, and performance of the solar power plant, thereby contributing to the advancement of sustainable solar energy.
