Hybrid Energy Storage Systems (HESS) are emerging as a transformative solution for addressing the limitations of single energy storage technologies in modern power systems. By combining complementary energy storage technologies, such as batteries, supercapacitors, and hydrogen-based systems, HESS offer a balanced approach to overcoming challenges like energy density, power density, self-discharge rates, and efficiency.
