Anti-Peaking-ESO-Based Adaptive SOSM Controller Design for PMSM Speed Regulation

This paper addresses the speed regulation of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) by presenting a composite adaptive second-order sliding mode (SOSM) controller combined with an anti-peaking extended state observer (AESO). The proposed controller effectively suppresses chattering and enhances anti-disturbance performance. Initially, a relay-polynomial SOSM controller featuring a simple structure is devised to alleviate chattering typically observed in first-order sliding mode. To counteract the peaking phenomenon during the startup phase of PMSMs, the AESO incorporates a time-varying bandwidth mechanism. Furthermore, an innovative adaptive algorithm is introduced, leveraging a sliding-mode-based filter to identify the optimal minimum gain, thereby avoiding excessive control gain-induced chattering. The stability and performance advantages of the proposed controller are substantiated through rigorous theoretical analysis and experimental results.
