Transmitter Design for Indoor Microwave Wireless Power Transfer at 3 GHz

This paper explores the feasibility of transmitting power via microwave radiation for indoor applications. To achieve this aim, the transmitter section of a preliminary microwave wireless power transfer (MWPT) system is evaluated part by part through simulations. The proposed scheme comprises a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) operating at 3 GHz, an RF power amplifier with a power added efficiency (PAE) of approximately 53% and a large-signal gain of 11 dB, as well as a dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) to cover the desired area. The simulation results suggest that the proposed design can be further developed into a complete MWPT setup for the intended application.
