Urban Smart Loading Zones : Current Research, Trends and Futurs Directions – An Overview

This paper aims to explore the research related to the urban smart loading zones that represent the application of artificial intelligence in the management and optimization of urban delivery areas. Therefore, this literature review examines studies from 2015 to 2025 focusing on the applications of AI in delivery area management, the driving technologies, the results achieved and the challenges identified. It is clear from current research that AI can reduce congestion, optimize delivery schedules and contribute to more sustainable city management. However, many challenges remain, particularly in terms of cost, data security and integration into existing infrastructures.
