Urban Logistics and Smart Cities: A Bibliometric Analysis of Research Trends

Research in urban logistics has evolved significantly toward smart and sustainable solutions, incorporating emerging technologies such as autonomous vehicles, IoT, and intelligent transportation systems. These advancements primarily aim to optimize goods flows, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance urban quality of life. This study highlights the evolution of academic trends in this emerging field. It presents a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications exploring the intersections between urban logistics, smart cities, and metropolitan logistics dynamics. Based on a systematic review of the Web of Science database between 2010 and 2024, a total of 639 documents were analyzed to visualize keyword co-occurrence and examine citations related to authors, sources, publications, and countries.
