Mapping the Green Thread: A Bibliometric Analysis of Global Trends and Emerging Themes in Sustainable Supply Chain Research

Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) has gained considerable interest of organizations and policymakers that seek resilient and environmentally responsible business models. This study perform a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature focused on sustainable supply chains using data extracted from the Scopus database, covering the period from 2000 to 2024. The research maps the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and collaboration patterns within the field through network analysis of published works, by applying VOS viewer and Bibliometrix (R- package). Our analysis identifies a significant upward trajectory in the level of publication volume focusing on themes like social responsibility, circular economy, low-carbon logistics, and digital transformation in supply chain operations. These results identify the top authors countries, institutions and journals as well as emerging keyword trends and co-authorship networks during the last decade. The systematic review of the research on SSCM offers a comprehensive overview and is meant to direct future research towards filling in knowledge gaps or developing sustainable development goals based interdisciplinary linkages.
