A Control Method for LC-Equipped High-Speed PMSM Based on Synchronous Coordinate Extended State Observer

In the LC-equipped high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (LC-HSPMSM) systems, traditional inverter current feedback methods face challenges in accurately controlling motor current. This paper proposes a novel estimated stator current feedback method based on a speed-adaptive extended state observer (SAESO) modeled in the synchronous coordinate system. This approach is particularly suitable for industrial applications where only inverter current sensors are available, enabling precise control of motor current to achieve maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) operation. The proposed method employs a SAESO modeled in the synchronous coordinate system, which demonstrates higher estimation accuracy for stator current compared to traditional stationary coordinate system modeling. Additionally, the accuracy of the estimations is further improved through enhanced dead time compensation techniques, the introduction of a low-pass filter (LPF), and the application of an advanced adaptive algorithm. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated on an HSPMSM experimental platform operating at 25 kr/min.
