Magnetic ranging comparison between AC coils and Hall-effect sensor

This paper sets out the results of an experimental comparison between two magnetic RS (Ranging system) coils and a Hall-effect sensor. The significance of magnetic ranging in applications such as security, automotive, and industrial automation has increased over the years, enhancing the interest in suitable solutions. The study evaluates the performance of these two technologies in terms of distance detection and distance estimation. The research includes hardware implementation, signal processing techniques such as FFT and spectrogram analysis, and experimental distance measurements. The results of this study highlight the advantages and limitations of each system, providing insights into their optimal applications.
