A Roadmap Toward Sub 1pJ/b Optical Interconnect

In this work, we present the architectural reasoning for 2.5D integration and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) solution. Next, we discuss some of our preliminary results and main performance limiters. Lastly, we will review the key technologies we pursue to enable sub 1pJ optical interconnect.
