Developing Flat Panel X-Ray Source Module for CT Imaging System

Cold cathode flat-panel X-ray sources (FPXSs) have important applications in next-generation low-dose, high-resolution computed tomography imaging. In this study, a cold cathode FPXS with reflective target was fabricated using ZnO nanowire field emitter arrays. An FPXS module is assembled which integrated active cooling apparatus. The FPXS application in a homemade CT scanning system was also explored and reconstruction of tomographic images was obtained.
