MEMS Lateral Ion Detector for Chip Scale Mass Spectrometer

In this paper we present lateral ion detector developed for on-chip integrated quadrupole mass spectrometer. Two- and three-electrode designs were fabricated and examined, they showed satisfactory results, comparable with reference faraday cup detector. The obtained results showed that developed detectors and be successfully utilized as a part of fully integrated chip-scale mass spectrometer.
