Transmission through a triangular barrier by use of Airy functions

A wave solution for a simple triangular potential barrier, written in terms of Airy functions, shows the usual logarithmic dependence of current on the reciprocal of accelerating field and also suggests the use of perturbation theory to deduce the change of orbital energies induced by the applied field.
