Numerical Investigation of Dynamic Failure in Perforated Square Plates Under Near-Field Blast Loading

This study uses numerical simulation methods to analyze the failure modes of clamped square plates and stiffened plates with circular holes under blast loading. Based on the ANSYS/LS-DYNA platform, a numerical model of perforated plates was established, and the Load Blast Enhanced (LBE) method was applied to simulate dynamic deformation under explosive loading. The reliability of the model was verified through experimental data. Subsequently, single-hole flat plates and stiffened plates were modeled to investigate the influence of hole diameter (φ25mm/50mm/75mm) on structural response. A comparative analysis was conducted on the failure mechanisms and strain distribution of flat plates, centrally perforated plates, and centrally perforated stiffened plates under near-field blast loading.The results indicate that different structures exhibit significantly distinct failure modes under near-field blast loading. Stiffened plates are more prone to global failure compared to flat plates, and the presence of pre-existing holes and stiffeners notably alters the damage patterns.
