An Improved Power Allocation Strategy for Multi-Type Power Sources in Shipboard Integrated Power System

The integration of complex sea conditions and multiple types of loads poses severe challenges to the safe and stable operation of shipboard integrated power systems (SIPS) with limited capacity. Hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) are crucial for enhancing SIPS stability and reliability. The parallel power allocation strategy between HESS and generator sets in SIPS is crucial for the stable operation of the system. To address this issue, this paper proposes an improved power allocation strategy for multiple types of power sources in SIPS. Firstly, based on the traditional low-pass filter power allocation strategy, the initial power allocation between HESS and generator sets is achieved. Secondly, the low-pass filter is utilized again to achieve secondary power allocation according to the dynamic characteristics of lithium batteries and supercapacitors in the HESS. Then the state of charge (SOC) recovery control of supercapacitor is adopted to optimize the power allocation results and both the SOC and the current limit are adopted to protect the HESS. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified through simulation. The results show that the proposed strategy can effectively mitigate the impact of sudden load changes on SIPS and enhance the stability.
