Power System Security Assessment And Enhancement With Proposed Ranking Index For Voltage Stability Analysis

The phenomenon of voltage collapse arises in power systems due to critical and stressed operating conditions. Any system needs precise predictions in order to make effective operational and planning choices. This research develops a New Collapse Prediction Index (NCPI) to both determine essential power lines and monitor voltage stability. The NCPI demonstrates superior performance during tests on IEEE 30bus system since it achieves better maximum load ability and weak area detection than LSI and FVSI. The paper examines how sensitivity assumptions affect collapse prediction in existing indices through detailed analysis. The outage contingency ranking system identifies critical events that endanger both system stability and cause voltage collapse.
