Integrating Google Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) with Managed File Transfer for Data Protection

Encryption is critical when transferring files to and from the Cloud storage platforms, and this calls for use of optimized and secure transfer means. This paper will therefore seek to examine the possibilities of applying Google Cloud IAM in connection with the IBM Sterling File Gateway, part denying managed file transfer (MFT) security. It provides other non-critical options such as MFA, and RBAC, and encryption as its crucial options. The paper also discusses certain significant concepts like regulation which include GDPR as well as HIPAA. It also explains various challenges when it comes to the integration of IAM-MFT and possible solutions like using AI security policies and the zero-trust models. This is the implication that IAM integration has the capability of increasing access control and strengthening the security of Cloud data. In the paper, it is proposed to integrate MFT systems with Google Cloud IAM, which allows for making data more secure by applying central access control, RBAC, and MFA. Policy based encryption and automated compliance audit along with the standardized IAM MFT templates are the solutions. Hardware accelerated encryption plus self-service IAM reduce the challenges of performance overhead. In the second part, the security aspects using the A1Driven models for threat detection and zero trust enforcement in the hybrid Cloud is explored.
