Research on Lunar Navigation Electronic Map Software Based on QGIS

In manned lunar missions, astronauts rely on maps to carry out exploration tasks. Compared to paper maps, electronic maps offer more advantages and can better serve these missions. This study presents the development of a lunar navigation electronic map software based on the open-source, cross-platform QT and QGIS. The software features a well-organized map interface and is designed with three main functional modules: data loading management, map display, and real-time navigation. A map test software was created using the Apollo 15 mission as an example. The results show that the software can load and display rich map information content, and the designed navigation elements assist in determining orientation and distance, as well as identifying the surrounding environment. Additionally, the software is capable of real-time navigation and displaying recorded actual path.
