Reliability Assessment of Open Source Software: Taking Linux Operating System as an Example

The structure of large-scale open source software is complicated, which can be regarded as a collection of software packages, components, modules, subsystems, and their relationships. In reliability research, a scientific method is needed to assign the reliability weights of the software subsystems and then calculate its overall reliability. This article takes the Linux operating system as an example, a reliability assessment methodology that applies ANP to the Linux with a layered structure is proposed.
